Ford Use with New Mustang Car on NASCAR
For the past few years, Ford’s high-end NASCAR vehicles have resembled the sedan of the Fusion family. Next season, like the Xfinity series, Mustang will fight on NASCAR with. The earlier prototypes of the car seemed rather bulky, but the final version was successful as a design.
Ford has introduced the new Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. The new car will first compete on Daytona 500 in February 2019. Ford‘s employees at the Dearborn headquarters in Michigan, NASCAR executives, team owners and 13 drivers attended to the press meeting.
NASCAR management is looking forward to the new Mustang
Steve O’Donnell (NASCAR’s race development manager) said, “We look forward to seeing the Ford Mustang, a cultural icon on NASCAR‘s race. We want to see the performance that will be shown at the 2019 Daytona 500“.
The spectacular appearance of the new NASCAR vehicle is a product of a long workout. The designer team says that the car is not similar to the classic racing cars, and some design details specific to the Mustang are used in the car. We can say that the design of the new Mustang is one step ahead of the Toyoto Supra.
Ford is ambitious with new Mustang NASCAR
Mark Rushbrook, Ford’s president of global motor sport, said for the new car: “We have heard nothing but positive feedback since we announced in April that the Mustang will go to the NASCAR Cup level in 2019. Our performance team, a design team and a prideful heritage, would compete on the track with a Mustang. We hope to win the NASCAR Cup Series next year.”
Legend car Ford Mustang
The Ford Mustang was first produced by Ford on March 9, 1964 in Dearborn, Michigan, inspired by the Falcon model.
The car, which was shown at the New York Automotive Fair on April 17, 1964, appeared in the James Bond film Goldfinger starring Sean Connery in 1964. On February 17, 2008, 5th generation Ford Mustang GT500KR Shelby used as a self-driving smart car (also known as KITT) on the Knight Rider movie.
Mustang name comes from a war plane
When Ford started designing a new sports car, they wanted to give this new car a name to represent power. Vehicle designer John Najjar, was a fan of the P-51 Mustang plane which is used in World War II. Najjar suggested Mustang name to Ford. Ford, accepted this suggestion because the plane was successful in World War II. So Ford‘s new vehicle was named Mustang.
